Building a Healthier Tomorrow:

Don Lupe lays out the blueprint for the septic system
In 2024, a community of people in Atlanta partnered with a community of people in rural Nicaragua to solve their generational problem of open defecation. Comunidad Connect raised $50,000 to build 38 safe sanitation systems for families in the community of Los Robles, where over 65% of the population use the bathroom in the open air. Our model improves hygiene, sanitation, safety, and dignity of individuals
The "biodigestor" is installed
We convert plastic tanks into "biodigestores" that can manage a family's human waste for up to 35 years. Three truckloads of tanks arrived in Los Robles in February 2025 and our first "Baños For Good" have been completed.
The bathroom is safe and secure
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to our generous donors and the neighbors of Los Robles that are making our Baños For Good project a dream come true for 38 families in 2025. Hundreds of families continue to use the bathroom outside. From Scholarship Recipient to Community Changemaker
Eliseo Talavera is a civil engineer that Comunidad Connect contracts to supervise home modifications and most recently to help manage our Baños For Good project. His story began in 2012 when Comunidad Connect helped him acquire a scholarship to study design and construction engineering in Nicaragua. Upon graduation, Eliseo reached out to express his appreciation and pledge his support for our future projects in Los Robles and San Juan del Sur.
